Today\u2019s topic: Selling your agency.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-ad2f72ca wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>Most agency owners I speak with <em>love<\/em> what they do. So when the topic of selling comes up, the first thing they focus on is what they might lose:<br>\u2013 Flexibility and autonomy<br>\u2013 Steady income<br>\u2013 Working alongside a team they\u2019ve built<br>\u2013 The potential upside they believe is still ahead<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Those are real concerns. But there are also meaningful <em>advantages<\/em> to selling\u2014especially if the buyer is someone who wants to <strong>accelerate<\/strong> your growth, not just transition you out in 3\u20136 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A sale can offer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access to capital, resources, and expertise to pursue growth you couldn\u2019t achieve alone (e.g., investing in AI or building new capabilities)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ability to deliver more value to your clients and more career opportunities to your team<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A chance to de-risk by taking some chips off the table\u2014income that, if invested wisely, can more than offset your salary<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The potential for meaningful upside if you structure a deal with a \u201csecond bite at the apple\u201d<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thinking about this path? Two things to consider now:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Get good advice.<\/strong> Unless you have a background in M&amp;A, work with people who do.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Know your goals.<\/strong> What do you <em>want<\/em> from a sale?
